Privacy Policy

    Capleath is a footwear design, visualisation, and commerce platform. We collect only what we need to make our products work and we do not sell your data — ever. This policy covers all Capleath products: Capleath Studio and Capleath Market.
  

1. Who We Are

Capleath ("we", "our") operates two interconnected products — Capleath Studio, a colour and material visualisation tool for footwear professionals, and Capleath Market, an online marketplace connecting footwear artisans and buyers. This policy explains what personal data we collect across both products, why, and how we handle it.

2. What We Collect — Capleath Studio

When you use Capleath Studio we collect:

Account data — name and email address when you register or sign in
Usage data — how you interact with the Studio (tools used, session length, features accessed, export count)
Design files — shoe templates, colour palettes, and renders you create inside the Studio
Technical data — browser type, IP address, device information for diagnostics
Feedback — any suggestions or messages you voluntarily send us
Brand information — business name, role, and logo if provided during registration

We do not collect payment card details directly — all Studio subscription billing is handled by Paystack.

3. What We Collect — Capleath Market

When you use Capleath Market as a buyer we collect:

Account data — name and email address
Order data — products purchased, quantities, sizes, colours, order status
Delivery information — delivery address, phone number, and any delivery notes you provide
Payment data — transaction references and payment status. Card details are never stored by Capleath — all payments are processed by Paystack
Messages — conversations between you and vendors through the in-app messaging system
Wishlist data — products you save to your wishlist

When you use Capleath Market as a vendor we additionally collect:

Business information — business name, contact details, location, social handles, and business description
Bank account details — bank name, account number, and account name, used solely to process your earnings via Paystack's subaccount system
Product listings — product names, descriptions, prices, images, sizes, colours, and delivery zone fees
Sales and payout data — order history, commission records, and payout history
Application data — information submitted in your vendor application

4. How We Use Your Data

Capleath Studio:

To provide, maintain, and improve the Studio
To save and restore your design work across sessions
To manage your subscription and process payments
To send product updates and important notices (you can opt out)
To diagnose bugs and improve performance

Capleath Market:

To process and fulfil your orders
To connect buyers and vendors and facilitate transactions
To process vendor payouts via Paystack
To send order confirmation, shipping, and delivery notifications
To moderate in-app messages and maintain platform safety
To review and action vendor applications
To detect and prevent fraud or policy violations

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secured servers managed by Supabase, our primary data infrastructure provider. We use encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest for sensitive data. Access is restricted to authorised personnel only.

Your design files belong to you. We do not use your designs for any commercial purpose without your explicit permission.

Vendor bank details are stored securely and used only to create and manage Paystack payment subaccounts for your earnings. They are never shared with buyers or third parties other than Paystack.

6. Third-Party Service Providers

We do not sell your data. We work with the following trusted service providers who process data on our behalf:

Supabase — database, authentication, file storage, and real-time infrastructure
Paystack — payment processing for both Studio subscriptions and Market transactions. Paystack handles all card data under their own PCI-compliant security standards
Resend — email delivery for transactional emails (order confirmations, notifications, account emails)
Anthropic (Claude API) — AI-powered features in Studio (zone detection). Images processed for this feature are not stored by Anthropic beyond the immediate request
Vercel — website hosting and content delivery

We may also share data if required by law or to protect our rights.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction or deletion of your data
Object to or restrict how we process your data
Request a portable copy of your data
Withdraw consent at any time

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. Order and transaction records may be retained longer for legal and financial compliance purposes. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting hello@capleath.com.

9. Cookies & Local Storage

We use browser localStorage (not traditional cookies) to keep you signed in and remember your theme preference across sessions. We also use localStorage to store your cart items and wishlist on Capleath Market. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking technologies.

10. Children's Privacy

Capleath is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us at hello@capleath.com and we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

If we make significant changes, we will notify you via email or a notice within the product. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy. The date at the top of this page always reflects when it was last updated.
